Congratulation to the Warrior football team for a fine football season. The Warriors finished  8-4 after losing their 2nd round game to Mayfair. Congratulations to the following athletes who were selected to the Pacific Coast League All-League Team.

Pacific Coast League Offensive MVPNick Nash Senior accounted for over 3000 yards of offense in his first year at QB. He was the most dynamic player offensively in the league.

First Team All LeagueAustin Gaines Senior Offensive Center, Jonathan Kim Senior Offensive Tackle, Jacob Nash Junior Wide Receiver/CB, Sam Tipple Senior Inside Line backer and Colin Turner Junior Defensive End.

Game Recap

Congratulations to our Varsity team who advanced to the second round of the CIF playoffs with a 17-8 win over Segerstrom H.S. Senior Brendan Lee led the scoring with 5 goals. We have received word that our next game will be tomorrow (Thursday) at 3:30pm at the Woodbridge pool against Bonita HS. This will be the first ever CIF home game for WHS

Woodbridge Football defeated University 56-28 on Friday and with the win secured the Fence Post Trophy. The Warriors were led by a record performance from Nick Nash. Nick broke the scoring record with 6 rushing touchdowns and 2 more passing. He broke Max Nesser’s record of 6 total TD’s in 2010. The blocking from the offensive line, Austin Gaines, Jonathan Kim, Kyle Wray, Matt Ploof, Jared Ayvazian, tight ends Colin Turner, Will Serio, Emanuel Goffe and receivers, Jacob Nash, Elyjah Rush, Cassady Wells and Kyle Hurry as well as fullback/running back Chance Rainey, Sam and Max Tipple helped Nick rush for 324 yards and pass for an additional 183 yards. Nick’s total yardage of 507 was also a warrior record. Congratulations to all for this record breaking performance and team win.

All three levels of football beat Beckman this last week. The frosh team won again (8-0) 53-7, the JV ‘s won 27-0 and the varsity defeated the Patriots 31-24. All three teams, with a victory, will secure a city championship.

Game Recap

The Warriors got off to a fast start in the first quarter last Friday is their match up with Irvine High School. The score at the end of the first quarter was 8 to 1. Kareem Mamoun led the scoring with 3 goals and Riley Pittman had 3 as well. The win puts the Warriors firmly in second place with an opportunity to play CDM for a share of the title this Tuesday.
